Ans: A method of biological research in which fragments of tissue from an animal or plant are transferred to an artificial environment in a nutrient and sterile medium in which tissues can continue to survive and function.

ऊती संवर्धनातील विविध प्रक्रिया कोणत्या आहेत?
उत्तर: प्राथमिक संस्कार, प्रजनन/ विभाजन/ बहुविधन, खोड-मुलारंभ, प्राथमिक कठीण्यकरण, द्वितीय कठीण्यकरण इत्यादी, प्रक्रिया ऊती संवर्धन करताना कराव्या लागतात.

पेशी विज्ञान (Cytology)
पेशींचे प्रकार पेशीची रचना पेशीतील विविध अंगके आणि पेशी विभाजन इत्यादींचा अभ्यास म्हणजे पेशी विज्ञान होय. पेशी विज्ञान ही जीवशास्त्राची एक शाखा आहे. मानवी आरोग्य क्षेत्रात खूप मोठ्या प्रमाणात क्रांतिकारी बदल पेशी विज्ञानामुळेच घडून आले.

मूलपेशी ( stem cell)
- शरीरातील ज्या विशिष्ट पेशी इतर सर्व प्रकारच्या पेशींना जन्म देतात तसेच जखम भरून काढतात अशा पेशींना मूलपेशी असे म्हणतात.
- वाढीच्या सुरुवातीच्या काळात असणाऱ्या युग्मनजातील सर्व पेशी मूलपेशीच असतात. नाळेचे रक्त साठवण्याची काळजी त्यामुळे काही पालक घेतात.
- मूलपेशी कोणत्याही प्रकारच्या ऊतींची निर्मिती करू शकतात.
- एखाद्या अवयवाच्या ऱ्हास पावलेल्या भागाची पुनर्निर्मिती मूलपेशी द्वारे करता येते.
- मुल पेशींच्याद्वारे प्रयोग शाळेत वेगवेगळ्या प्रकारच्या ऊती मायटॉसिस क्रियेतून तयार करत येतात.

- In the body of multicellular organisms special types of cells are present that can give rise to cells of all other types are called stem cells.
- The zygote formed after fertilization contain stem cells. They can give rise to new organism.
- At the time of wound healing stem cells perform important function.

मूलपेशी कोठे असतात?
- आईच्या गर्भाशयातील नाळेत.
- भृणाच्या कोरकपुटी ( blastocyst) अवस्थे मध्ये.
- प्रौढ व्यक्ती मधील मेद ऊती मध्ये. (Adipose tissue)
- रक्तामध्ये.
- रक्त अस्थी मज्जेत ( red bone marrow)
